In a role that was taking him all over the country, clocking up 700 miles a week and with several nights away from home; Matt was becoming more and more disillusioned with the corporate world. He had invested shares in his company, but was not able to help shape the future strategy and it is this lack of control that pushed him to want to be his own boss. As an owner-operator I benefit from the variety of many roles, from finance manager, to tea maker, delivery driver to salesman.  I could not be more content.  I manage my time to suit my needs and most importantly, I always ensure that I am home to have dinner with my family.

“I am only 2 years in, but have achieved so much, including a record sales month during 2020 – not bad for a year of lockdowns and restrictions! I’ve grown my starting sales by 80% and even purchased a second smaller vehicle to increase capacity and help free my time up to continue growing the business.  The secret to my success has been to work hard and diversify into lots of sectors.  At the end of the day, any business that has a cleaning need is a potential customer and I sell to companies from haulage through to hairdressers – you can’t get more varied than that!
